211 Disaster Response Volunteer Sign Up

211 Orange County is a nonprofit helpline which connects people to services in their area.

Our Company’s Mission: Connecting the vulnerable with the health and human resources they need when they need it most. We connect, collaborate and inform across all community stakeholders to better empower our community.

Position: 211 Orange County is a nonprofit looking for volunteers to either work from home or in our Santa Ana office. We are hoping to find long term volunteers but are flexible on hours and scheduling. Typically shifts would be in 4-hour increments. Our organization couldn’t run without the help of our volunteers! Volunteers would focus on connecting the community with food pantry resources. Must be willing to work in case of disaster, due to the current health crisis, volunteers will mainly focus on helping connect to food pantry resources.

How you will be helping:

  • Connecting community members who call 211 needing food assistance with Food Pantry resources or locations
  • Ability to work from home/remote or at a Santa Ana call center
  • Sunday through Saturday
  • 4 hours shifts from 9am to 9pm [Times: 9am-1pm; 1pm-5pm; 5pm-9pm]
  • Need: 50-100 Volunteers

Skills preferred:

o   Computer skills

o   Administrative skills

o   Excellent Telephone Etiquette

o   Fluency in Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, or Farsi a plus (not required)

Tools required:

  1. Computer or smartphone to research/access feedoc.org website or resources
  2. Personal cell phone
  3. Training Session (in-person or virtual)
